Already a star of Pro Stock and Top Methanol Funny Car, Niclas entered Pro Mod in 2006. His team, led by Magnus Pettersson, made its first major appearance of 2007 at September’s FIA European Finals (MSA Rnd. 4) at Santa Pod using a new BAE Hemi engine built by US racer Mike Janis.

A career-best ET of 6.44 qualified Niclas 11th. In the opening round of eliminations, the failure of a fine 6.45 allied to the round’s quickest reaction time (.0580) to produce a win for Niclas was vivid proof of the competition’s severity.
