MSA British Drag Racing Championship
Mikael Lindahl

Mikael Lindahl

Car: '67 Chevrolet Camaro
Occupation: Engineer
Home Town/Country: Vargön, Sweden
Team: Team Kendall Racing
Best ET: 6.110 seconds
Best Terminal Speed: 229.65mph

After occasional appearances last season and a shunt with the Gardermoen guard rail in their ‘57 Chevy, the Lindahl twins – driver Mikael, crewchief Magnus -- acquired a new ’67 Camaro for a serious 2007 campaign.

At May’s rained-off Main Event (MSA Rnd. 2), Mikael struggled in the two qualifying sessions after clocking a career-best 6.30 in testing the previous weekend. In July’s FIA races in Scandinavia, he qualified 8th (6.53) at Alastaro, Finland, but lost his first-round eliminations match. At Mantorp Park, Sweden, he used new career-best figures of 6.26/228mph to qualify 2nd in Europe’s quickest-ever Pro Mod field but again slipped to defeat in the opening round.

The team cemented its position as Europe’s coming Pro Mod force at Santa Pod’s FIA European Finals (MSA Rnd. 4). Mikael clocked four sub-6.20sec. passes during qualifying and eliminations, culminating in a new European record of 6.110 and a Top Speed of the Meet 229.65mph. Having qualified number one, he slipped up in the semi-final against eventual race winner Patrik Wikström.
