Andy raced in the first ever British Pro Mod Championship in 1988 and has won that championship three times. His Studebaker has long been a leading performer in Europe.

Tyre-shake problems at Easter gave Andy headaches, literal as well as metaphorical, and prevented a strong showing in MSA Round 1. At the Main Event (MSA Rnd. 2), he clocked a strong 6.20/226 to qualify provisionally 3rd before the rain-out.

At Juneís Summer Nationals (MSA Rnd. 3), Andy battled through difficult conditions to win the event and propel himself into the MSA points lead. He also led the FIA European Pro Mod Championship, qualifying low at both Scandinavian races in July (Alastaro, Finland, and Mantorp Park, Sweden) and reaching the Mantorp final, which he lost by inches to Michael Gullqvist.

At Santa Podís FIA European Finals (MSA Rnd. 4), Andy set a new career- and UK-best elapsed time of 6.161sec. in qualifying but lost the race (and the FIA European title) to a broken clutch linkage in the semi-final. His performance did, however, secure him an unassailable lead in the MSA British Championship and he crowned himself in style with a dominating win at the National Finals (MSA Rnd. 5: 29-30 September).

As proprietor of Andy Robinson Race Cars, Andy has built several of the hottest Pro Mods on the European scene and his own car holds the European speed record of 229.43mph along with that new UK-best ET. Andy has also managed to win this yearís Scandinavian-based NDRS Bilsport Pro Mod Series.
